Welcome to Faith International Mission USA/Sierra Leone!

Our mission is to equip the poor, both physically and spiritually, in the Name of Christ. Our statement of faith is found here. We are a 501(c)(3) charity, meaning that all donations are tax-deductible.

We seek to meet the spiritual and physical needs of the poor in Sierra Leone. Our current focus is the Batkanu region (Bombali District) of Sierra Leone. One of chief activities is to provide eduation to children within the this remote region, which is not accessible except by motorcycle or on foot. Our school in Makaiba village is the only school in operation within this region, and we are excited that the construction of a permanent schoolbuilding is now underway! Our major efforts in 2012 are to complete the building project, and to provide the children with necessary school materials; currently we are in need of textbooks, supplies, and sports equipment. A longer term goal is to organize villagers to engage in building a road to the village; one major issue will be the construction of a simple bridge. Another planned project is to provide villagers with a means to obtain clean water (perhaps a number of sand biofilter rigs, along with the solar chlorine water purifier we have purchased from this source).

In 2009, we sent a pastor, Samuel Kamara, to this region. People are now able to hear the Word of God in their own language, Loko. The pastor also serves as school superintendent and runs the adult literacy program. Currently there are two teachers on staff.

We invite you to read about our mission activities and to prayerfully consider partnering with us to help us put the school on a solid footing. The need is very great, and your donations will be used to help hundreds of children.
